Step 1 - Outrigger Canoe Introduction Course

Course Description:
Outrigger Canoeing is quickly growing in popularity around the world and is perfectly suited to the warm and scenic waters of the Hong Kong coastline. 

Due to high demand, the Rowing & Paddle Sports section runs two or more introduction courses yearly. Our 3-hour introduction course includes both a theory and water session. You will learn the basic paddling technique, launching and rigging the canoes, and water safety practices.

After completion of the introduction course, you are required to attend an additional three novice squad sessions that will repeat what has been learned in the introduction course, and cover much more as you develop your paddling skills. The introduction course and (step 2) novice squad sessions are pre-requisite courses to attend before registering on to the development course.
