Outrigger Canoe Development Course at Shelter Cove (by Invitation)

Outrigger Canoe Development Course at Shelter Cove (by Invitation)

What is the Development Paddling Course?

This course is a way for any inexperienced paddler or recent graduate of a novice course to continue to access workouts and boats as they build experience and skill.

This is aimed at non-members who would otherwise not have access to the boats that is needed to build this additional paddling ability.

The ability to continue developing paddling skill gives a novice time to get to know the Club, develop a love of the sport and to ensure that they are committed to the activities of the Rowing and Paddling Section. The eventual outcome is hopefully a successful application to become a member of RHKYC.

The course includes access for a three month period to coaching at a regular training sessions at Shelter Cove when available, and also includes invitations to any of the relevant Rowing and Paddle Sports Section races and events that might be held during the duration of the course.

Upon completion of this course it is hoped that the new paddler has gained enough experience of both the sport and of the Club to proceed with a membership application. Current applicants may be invited to attend ongoing coaching and training with the Club.

In addition, this structure it provides an avenue for experienced paddlers newly arrived to Hong Kong to take part in training and racing activities while they get to know us and make the decision to join the Club in the longer term.

Monthly active rower fee (RHKYC Member)
