About
The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club operates a rowing Youth Advanced Programme aimed to provide an opportunity for more experienced rowers to transition from coastal rowing to 'fine' rowing for Girls'/ Boys' aged 12 to 17 years old.
Course Prerequisites:
1. Must be over the age of 12.
2. Rowers must be able to demonstrate a full understanding of intermediate to advanced level rowing techniques.
3. Coach assessment needed before formal commencement.
Training schedule:
Every Tuesday and Thursday 6-8am
Every Saturday 9-11am
Every Monday and Wednesday 5-7pm
(subject to TeamSnap final schedule)

Course fee (per person per month):
$1,250 + active rower fee (for RHKYC member)
$1,750 (for Non-RHKYC member)
Additional fee of $320 per person per session if training at Middle Island. Advance booking with rowing coaches are required.
(Course fee will be reviewed by end March 2023.)
Season:
The programme begins in September and runs through the entire year ending in June. During Summer, Winter and Easter school breaks the club runs four day rowing camps, ensuring the YAP athletes are able to develop deeper knowledge and enjoy the sport of rowing. Camps are available to all YAP participants within the given month at discounted prices.
Training & Racing:
Training takes place at Shek Mun Rowing Centre with multiple racing. Bear in mind to apply as a centre user for training at Hong Kong, China Rowing Association (HKCRA) at this LINK.
Multiple local events organised by the club as well as the Hong Kong, China Rowing Association where our YAP athletes are able to race and compete.
Tours:
Overseas race regattas are organised in cities such as Tokyo & Osaka, as well as further abroad in Europe.
