Terms and Rental Policy

1.ONLY Members may rent the kayaks.

2.You must register and sign the Indemnity Form ONLINE before taking out a kayak.

3.You must wear a personal floatation device (PFD) at ALL times.

4.You must stay within the Deep Water Bay Area.

5.Please take care of the equipment – do not drag the kayak on the slipway, lift and carry to the waters edge, ensure the kayak and paddles and PFD is rinsed and returned to it's proper location.

6.Please check the weather and do not go out in dangerous weather conditions (as outlined here).

7.You must be at least 18 years of age to RENT equipment and willing to take financial and legal responsibility for the equipment you are renting. Minors can use the equipment rented, however, if under 16 years of age must be supervised by someone at least 18 years of age.

8.You must be at least 10 years old and 65 pounds to paddle your own kayak

9.Children under 10 years of age or 65 pounds are allowed to ride on a kayak with someone who meets the age and weight requirements.

Personal Responsibility

The Participant and his/her parent(s) or legal guardian(s) certify that Participant has no physical or mental condition that precludes him/her from participating in the Activities and that he/she is not participating against medical advice.

The Participant and his/her parent(s) or legal guardian(s) understand that Participant's participation in the Activities is voluntary and further understand that they have the opportunity to inspect the Host's Equipment, facilities, and vessels before any participation.

The Participant and his/her parent(s) or legal guardian(s) understand that Participant is obligated to follow the rules of the Activities and that he/she can minimize his/her risk of injury by doing so and through the exercise of common sense and by being aware of his/her surroundings. If, while participating in the Activities, the Participant or his/her parent(s) or legal guardian(s) observe any unusual hazard or condition, which they believe jeopardizes Participant's personal safety or that of others, Participant and/or his/her parent(s) or legal guardian(s) will remove Participant from participation in the Activities and immediately bring said hazard or condition to the attention of the Host.
