Course Prerequisites: No prior experience or License required.
Course Details:
An introduction to powerboat driving and handling. This course will provide you with the basics required to operate a small RIB-type boat. This course is suitable for those looking to learn how to drive boats, those looking for extra training following gaining a HK PVOCC or those looking to volunteer driving RHKYC's fleet of VSR 5.8 RIBs during club events.
You are not required to hold a HK Marine Department boat license to participate in this course.
A valid RHKYC Membership number must be provided when enrolling using the Member's option and price. Members rates and priority enrollment only applies to members. All others must enroll as non-members. Failure to provide a valid RHKYC membership number will result in your enrollment being cancelled. Enrollments made using the membership option will be billed to membership accounts.

Course Inclusions: The cost of the course includes logbooks and certificates if necessary. Lunch is included for all full day courses with the exception of 'Distance Sail' courses.
Other Details:
All participants are required to be confident in the water whilst wearing a buoyancy aid. Buoyancy aids will be provided and must be worn at all times when on the water.

Subvention of course fee for volunteers
- After successful completion of the Level 2 Powerboat Course and Safety Boat Course, RHKYC Members on the Approved RIB Helm List may apply to the Sailing Committee for subvention of the course fee to a maximum value of 75% of the cost. Subvention will be dependent on the member assisting at Club events as a powerboat driver within 12 months of their course completion, with 25% of the cost credited per event-day.
