J80 Race Skipper

2024 January to June courses will open for enrolment on the following dates:

RHKYC Members enrollment will open on 23 Nov 2023 - 1700hrs

Non members enrollment will open on 07 Dec 2023 - 1700hrs

A valid RHKYC Membership number must be provided when enrolling using the Member's option and price. Members rates and priority enrollment only applies to members and their immediate family. All others must enroll as non-members. Failure to provide a valid RHKYC membership number will result in your enrollment being cancelled. Enrollments made using the membership option will be billed to membership accounts.

Course Prerequisites: Completion of the J80 Club Helm Course

Course Details:
The course is aimed only at sailors who have gained a lot of race crewing experience and wish to try
their hand and skippering in race. This course will be outsourced to Keelboat race experts who will provide the coaches. RHKYC will manage the admin and provide equipment.

Minimum Age: 16

Duration: 3 Full Days

Course Times: 09:00 to 17:00hrs

Location: RHKYC Middle Island Sail Training Centre

Accessible by club provided ferry.

Course Inclusions: The cost of the course includes logbooks and certificates if necessary. Lunch is included for all full day courses with the exception of 'Distance Sail' courses.

Other Details:

All participants are required to be confident in the water whilst wearing a buoyancy aid. Buoyancy aids will be provided and must be worn at all times when on the water.
