A valid RHKYC Membership number must be provided when enrolling using the Member's option and price. Members rates and priority enrollment only applies to members and their immediate family. All others must enroll as non-members. Failure to provide a valid RHKYC membership number will result in your enrollment being cancelled. Enrollments made using the membership option will be billed to membership accounts.
Course Prerequisites: No prior Experience required.
Course Details:
Building on step 1, sailors will learn to further control their boat in pairs. By the end of the course sailors will know how to control speed, how to Tack and maybe even get a taster of sailing solo.
Minimum Age: 6
Duration: 5 Half Days
Course Times: Monday to Friday
09:15 to 12:30hrs

Course Inclusions: The cost of the course includes logbooks and certificates if necessary. Lunch is not included for half day courses.
Other Details:
All participants are required to be confident in the water whilst wearing a buoyancy aid. Buoyancy aids will be provided and must be worn at all times when on the water.

Special Notices for Covid-19 (As of March 30, 2021)
LeaveHomeSafe/QR code
- Non-member visitors will be required to scan the 'LeaveHomeSafe' app to be allowed in for contact tracing purposes. Please ensure that your phone has the app loaded prior to arriving to Middle Island. Parents, please ensure your child has a phone which can scan the app or accompany your child to Middle Island and scan in on their behalf (please note that all children attending Opti courses are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian when arriving or leaving for courses as a normal procedure). – There will be no alternatives for non-members to log personal details for contact tracing aside from the 'LeaveHomeSafe' app.
- Members will have the option of using the 'Leave Home Safe' app or scanning their membership card at the designated scanning point next to Middle Island club house stairs.
Mask and temperature check
All persons arriving at Middle island will be required to wear a mask and will have their temperature scanned. Masks will be required to be worn at all times except once sailing, when eating or when showering.
Changing rooms
will be open while masks must be worn except when showering.
Please do not come to the Club if:-
- you are suffering from any symptoms of the Covid-19 virus;
- you or any member of your immediate household has been in close contact with a confirmed or provisionally confirmed Covid-19 patient in the last 14 days;
- you or any member of your immediate household has returned from abroad in the past 14 days (unless exempt from compulsory Quarantine/Isolation under the HKSAR Government's scheme);
- you or any member of your immediate household has been in close contact with anyone who has returned from abroad in the past 14 days, unless that person is exempt from compulsory Quarantine/Isolation under the HKSAR Government's scheme.
