Course Prerequisites: HKSF Level 1 or completed 'Start Sailing'

Course Details:
The Basic Skills Course is a 5-day practical course, sailing RS Quest and Fusion dinghies from Middle Island. These courses are open to the public and follow the HKSF Level 2 syllabus. Courses are taught in English unless specifically identified in the application.

The RHKYC Adult Beginner courses differs from other beginner courses available in Hong Kong by focusing on teaching sailing in a more relaxed and less intensive course. Using 8 days to complete Levels and 2 instead of the regular 5 day beginner courses elsewhere allows students to take more time to enjoy the sport and learn at their own pace. The RHKYC Adult beginner courses also have smaller class sizes than other centres allowing for more interactive and direct teaching from our qualified instructors.

By the end of the course, students will have mastered the basic skills of sailing and will be qualified to sail a dinghy independently. The HKSF Level 2 certificate is also the minimum qualification to hire club dinghies.

Please note that a student must complete the course in full to receive level 1 and we suggest that you carefully consult your diary before enrolling as course fees cannot be refunded. If you are unable to attend some of the practical days, no make-up days can be arranged. Attendance is also most important as we have a very long waiting list for these courses and by not completing a course you will be preventing another student from taking part.
